Isaac Manuel Francisco Albéniz
( 1860 - 1909 ) Spain
A child prodigy, he passed the exams for the Paris Conservatoire at age 7 though broke a glass with a ball and was refused admission. He is most noted for his piano works based on Spanish folk tunes, many of which are transcribed for guitar.
